- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 slices rye bread
Instructions
- Form the ground beef into four equal patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add sliced onions. Cook until caramelized (10-15 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- In another skillet over medium-high heat, melt the remaining butter and cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side until desired doneness. Add cheese on top during the last minute to melt slightly.
