  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 15 oz canned low-sodium tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together cooked noodles, browned beef and onions, sour cream, tomato sauce, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Layer half of the mixture in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat layering with the remaining mixture and cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
