  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture; beat on medium speed for about two minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water carefully; the batter will be thin. Pour evenly into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in pans for about ten minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
