- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cubed butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust bakes, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Once the crust has cooled slightly, layer the sliced strawberries on top, add dollops of whipped cream, and sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
