  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¼ cup fresh herbs (chopped parsley, rosemary, or thyme)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add salt and softened butter to the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the filling by combining minced garlic with chopped herbs and softened butter.
  6. After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the herb-garlic mixture evenly over it, then roll tightly from one end to another.
  7. Slice into rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes.
