Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ¼ cup fresh herbs (chopped parsley, rosemary, or thyme)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add salt and softened butter to the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling by combining minced garlic with chopped herbs and softened butter.
- After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the herb-garlic mixture evenly over it, then roll tightly from one end to another.
- Slice into rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes.
