  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 head garlic, roasted and mashed
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Gruyère cheese

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, mix heavy cream, milk, roasted garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese on top. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
