- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp cooking oil (for searing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into four oval patties about 1 inch thick.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth while scraping up browned bits. Stir in sour cream and let simmer.
- Return patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Serve warm with gravy drizzled on top.
