Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil (for searing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into four oval patties about 1 inch thick.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth while scraping up browned bits. Stir in sour cream and let simmer.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
